A triangle has three points, and none of them are comfortable to stand on for long. Fari Islam names her novel simply “Musallas” — the triangle — and lets readers fill in the implication.

The Shape Says It All

In romantic fiction, a triangle almost always means three people whose feelings overlap in ways that can’t resolve cleanly — someone’s going to be left at a corner.

What to Expect

Divided loyalty, competing affections, and the tension of a story that can’t give everyone what they want at the same time.

Recommended For

Readers who enjoy the classic will-they-choose-correctly tension of a love triangle.
